Dr Liz Toy and Dr Paul Beckett – GIRFT’s clinical leads for lung cancer – along with Professor Tim Briggs, Chair of the GIRFT programme and national director of clinical improvement for NHS England, will be hosting a lunchtime webinar to discuss the GIRFT national report for lung cancer and next steps for implementation.

The GIRFT report was commissioned jointly with the NHS England Cancer Programme, and we are delighted to be joined in this webinar by Professor Peter Johnson, NHS England national clinical director for cancer.

The webinar will discuss the report’s recommendations for addressing variability in care, looking at best practice in diagnostics and MDT working, and how the report supports the national framework for service improvement and enhanced supportive care.

Attendees will also hear from Dr Ruth Sharrock, joint lung cancer lead at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, who will present on her team’s experience and immediate effect of being ‘GIRFT-ed’.
