It is with great sadness that we let you know that Tom Haswell passed away suddenly at home on Friday 27th November. 
Tom was a very much loved member of the BTOG Steering Committee and a hugely influential professional lung cancer advocate. He personally contributed hugely to much of the work we do at BTOG giving us strategic direction and courage in our work with lay advocates.
Many of us would have also interacted with him on many other National committees over the years. Above all, he was a caring and gentle person, and always had patients’ wishes at heart.
His loss is a big shock to the UK Thoracic Oncology Community: over the years he influenced countless doctors, nurses, lay advocates, researchers, medical students, and other healthcare professionals. He will be greatly missed.
